Terms of Service
Last updated: June 10, 2026
1. The service
Email Verification API ("the service", "we", "us") provides programmatic email verification: a REST API, bulk verification jobs, and the free on-page checker at emailverificationapi.io. Results (deliverable, undeliverable, risky, unknown, and associated flags) are best-effort assessments based on live network checks at the time of the request. We do not warrant that any individual result is accurate or that a "deliverable" address will accept any particular message.
2. Accounts and API keys
You must provide accurate registration details and keep your credentials and API keys secret. API keys are bearer credentials: anything done with your key is attributed to your account. Do not embed live keys in client-side code. We may suspend keys or accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are compromised.
3. Credits and billing
Usage is prepaid in credits; one credit covers one verification. New accounts receive 100 free API credits with no payment method required. Paid credit packs are processed by Stripe; we never store your card details. Unknown verdicts are not billed: single verifications returning "unknown" are not charged, and "unknown" rows in bulk jobs are refunded to your balance automatically. Credits are non-transferable and, except where required by law, non-refundable once consumed.
4. Acceptable use
- Use the service only for lawful purposes, and comply with applicable anti-spam and data-protection law (including CAN-SPAM, PECR and the GDPR) when contacting any address you verify.
- Do not circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits, free-tier quotas, or the proof-of-work challenge protecting the free checker.
- Do not resell or white-label the API without a written agreement.
- Do not use the service to harass individuals or to enable fraud, phishing or other abuse.
5. Rate limits and fair use
API keys are limited to 120 requests per minute. Bulk jobs accept up to 50,000 addresses per job. The free on-page checker is limited to 5 checks per IP address per day. We may throttle traffic that degrades service quality for other customers.
6. Availability
We aim for high availability but the service is provided without an uptime guarantee unless agreed in a separate enterprise contract. Verification depends on third-party mail servers we do not control; their behaviour (greylisting, throttling, outages) can affect latency and results.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, or harm to sender reputation.
9. Termination, changes, contact
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, with notice where practicable. We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date, and continued use constitutes acceptance. Questions: [email protected].
